Feanpay ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your personal information. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and your rights under the Nigeria Data Protection Regulation (NDPR) and other applicable laws. By using Feanpay, you consent to the practices described in this Privacy Policy.
We collect the following categories of information: Identity & Contact Data • Your full name • Your WhatsApp phone number • Your email address (if provided) Financial Data • Your bank account details (account number, bank name) as provided during transactions • Transaction history (amounts, recipients, dates, status) Device & Usage Data • Your WhatsApp interaction data (messages sent to the Feanpay bot) • Device identifiers and session metadata for fraud prevention We do not store your transaction PIN. It is used only at the point of confirmation and never retained by us.
We use your information to: • Process and verify your financial transactions • Confirm your identity and prevent fraud • Send you transaction receipts, alerts, and service notifications via WhatsApp • Respond to your support requests • Comply with our legal and regulatory obligations (including CBN and NDPR requirements) • Improve and develop our platform and features • Send you important updates about changes to our service We do not use your data for advertising or sell it to third parties for marketing purposes.
We process your personal data on the following legal bases: • Contract: Processing is necessary to provide the services you requested • Legal obligation: We are required to process certain data to comply with CBN regulations, anti-money laundering (AML) laws, and Know Your Customer (KYC) requirements • Legitimate interests: Fraud prevention, security monitoring, and platform improvement • Consent: Where we rely on consent, you may withdraw it at any time
We share your information only where necessary: Payment Partners & Banks We share transaction details with licensed Nigerian payment processors and recipient banks to complete your transfers. Regulatory Authorities We may disclose information to the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Nigerian Financial Intelligence Unit (NFIU), or other regulators when required by law. Service Providers We work with technology providers (hosting, analytics, fraud detection) who process data strictly on our behalf and under confidentiality obligations. We do not sell your personal data to any third party.
We retain your personal data for as long as your account is active and for a minimum of 5 years after your last transaction, as required by Nigerian financial regulations (CBN AML/CFT Framework). Transaction records may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with tax and regulatory obligations. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time, subject to our legal retention obligations.
Under the NDPR and applicable law, you have the right to: • Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you • Correction: Ask us to correct inaccurate or incomplete data • Deletion: Request that we delete your data, subject to legal retention requirements • Restriction: Ask us to limit how we use your data in certain circumstances • Portability: Receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format • Objection: Object to processing based on legitimate interests To exercise any of these rights, contact us at hello@feanpay.com. We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including: • Encryption of data in transit (TLS/HTTPS) • PIN-based transaction confirmation — your PIN is never stored • Fraud monitoring and anomaly detection • Access controls limiting who within Feanpay can view transaction data No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we take every precaution, we cannot guarantee absolute security. You are responsible for keeping your PIN and WhatsApp account secure.
Feanpay may reference third-party services (e.g., bank websites). We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies before sharing any data with them.
Feanpay is not intended for users under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If we become aware that we have collected data from a minor, we will delete it promptly.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. We will notify you of significant changes via WhatsApp or by updating the "Last updated" date on this page. Continued use of Feanpay after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated Policy.
